History

A short history of the time before HiGH SOCIETY became the group you all know:

  • 1985: Mordlord buys a C16 and starts the history. ;) At this time Mordlord was one of the fasters copy guys with his dubblespeed soundmachine. :P
  • 1986: The C64-scene is pretty established. Mordlord and Salem founded The Future Boys after hanging around with some guys in Austria. A few games releases where done for the Austrian Scene, demo coding was not a big deal earlier. But this was due to change.
  • 1987: The Future Boys released a few intros, not widely spread, but reached a freak called Stage. He joined, and was for a long time the only real coder.
The Future Boys released some Demos and the mighty Resmon for Amiga. The Future Boys growed, but due to laziness the only members left were Mordlord, Salem, Stage, Shark and Nik.
  • 1988: Nothing really amazing happened. People got more lazier, a few members came and went, no names left. (think it was Robocop, Stingray and FSK) :)
  • 1989: The Future Boys visited some parties,
Lazer and Weid Science Party on 17.06.1989 in St.Poelten/Austria (invitation) (you get a cookie for guessing which one of those is Mordlord!)
The Future Boys Party on 22.07.1989 in Linz/Austria.(invitation)
R.A.C. Copyparty on 29.07.1989 in Wels/Austria. (invitation) But not really a good party. It was a copyparty. so nothing for us.
Stardom and Future Concepts/Crazy Copy-Party on 4/5/6.07.1989 in Le Locle (invitation), and took place 6 at the C-64 compo. Hehe, Crest won :) who else...
Lazer and Magnetix Party on 11/12.11.1989 in Amstetten/Austria.(invitation)
Transcom & Fairlight Copy Party on 28/29.10.1989 in Paris.(invitation). Mordlord, Salem, Stage and Hermes from Cosmos. Hermes released a Demo called Perplex.

Some kind of year of destiny. The whole group broke up after the Transcom & Fairlight Copy Party in Paris. The whole scene was changing. Many of the core groups where going. Even in Austria, where no real scene has been established yet, changed a lot.
Groups like TAT, WS2662, TV had their biggest time, but The Future Boys had it long before :)
Name Change to Leaders. Only one intro released and a goodbye intro.(check download section)
Stage was quitting after many differences, Salem went to Padua and X-Rated.
So the Leaders was dead and we change the name shortly to Hurrican. Members: Mordlord, Shark, Phoenix, Robocop.
  • 1990: Mordlord sells his c64 and starts with his Amiga a new group called Home Boys, the next group of some The Future Boys members stayed for a longer time in the scene. Stage joined again. Released a few versions of Resmon, nowadays found on the Aminet.
Titan Party on 3/4.02.1990 in Siegelsbach/Germany. (invitation)
  • 1992: Again released some intros for Amiga under Home Boys, but not big activities in the Scene. It was something like a dead-time for everyone, except Nik, who proofed his skills on viruses and Djax released 2 intros. :)
Energy & Cosmos Designs Party on 3/4/5.09.1992 in Graz/Austria. (invitation)
  • 1993: Again, the name changed. Shortly to Sigma Seven, only Djax code some ami/X-Press bbs-doors. Member status was Mordlord, Stage, Nik, Djax.
  • 1995: The Future Boys released a few thing for the SNES.
  • 1996: Name changed to HiGH SOCIETY. Absolutely dead for scene activities. Just did something for PC, and ofcourse the Playstation was some kind of interest, but nothing did follow. Mordlord change his name to Rico. ooops, now you know his secret. ;)
  • 1997: The great Comeback. The N64 was pretty established, luckily big N didn't catch the CD train. So the Doctor V64 was the big winner :) Released some tools for N64: Resmon and Palfix, and a few others. Member Status still was Rico, Stage, Nik.
  • 1998: Noone thought that the end of 1998 would bring that good things to us :) as the year started more frustatingly. Stage moved a few times, didn't have time to code anything. Rico supplied very well, but the whole thing wasn't running fine :(

In Summer we started our website, which was formerly placed on some free-web services, but of course they didn't allow the things we wanted to. HiGH SOCIETY released a few demos for the Playstation, due to the fact, Hitmen PSX did well on exploring it :) The group growed well...
One world's first release was Zelda 64 the game everyone waited for. Shortly before a few guys joined HS: Darkman started this task.
The others were (in no order): Well known Unit, Lenny, Swasti, mighty Iggy, cool Shlong Master, Djax, Seven, THC.
Iggy and Unit did well in releasing fixes for various N64 games.
Group Quasar joins HS. Thats Parker Lewis, Lord Zodack and Blackthorne

The internet activities growed essentially, now serving more then 5 sites. Own efnet channel #hs has been established, which becomes more and more important for the scene. Also there are now 3 ftps running under HiGH SOCIETY.
  • 1999: Stage retire and gos to Germany. Works now for BlueByte on the Game Siedler.
  • 2000: Radwar 2000 Party on 27.05.2000 in Aachen/Germany with Mahadma\HS, Djax\HS, Acidline\HS, Furore\HS, Cliffi\HS, Closedone\HS and Stage (but for BlueByte and not under HS). ;)
Group Team Psychosis joins HS. Thats Sweed and Cartman
  • 2001: Stage left BlueByte and gos to HongKong.
  • 2002: Group Mystical joins HS. Thats Tom, Port, Roadhouse, aohell
  • 2003: Ascii Group get startet with the name HS-ART.
  • 2004: Group FFI joins HS. Thats rantampla, relativ, bbb and tyny.
Group DRabbits joins HS. Thats moloch and some other guys.
  • 2006: HS-ART took place 1 at evokes ascii/ansi compo.
Rico retire after more then 20 years of leadship. Acidline too.
  • 2007: HS-ART took place 1 on evokes ascii/ansi compo and place 1 and 2 at buenzlis ascii/ansi compo and the first place at tum (with kermit :P).
  • 2008: New website gos online.

How HiGH SOCIETY got into PSX coding
